How we helped a refurbishment company get access data on 350 employees - including workers 4 storeys underground.
Real-time fire roll call reporting and access to accurate time and attendance data was critical for this refurbishment company. To comply with regulations, managers needed visibility of 350 employees working across 15 sites. The tricky part: some of those sites were 4 storeys below ground.
We set up hand-scanner terminals at each site to identify employees and provide managers with reliable data on who is on any site at any given time.
We installed a two-way communication network between the terminals and head office, allowing each site to be managed remotely. Real-time attendance data is now constantly being exchanged between the two points.
We then created a new feature to upload employee ID details and permission information to the terminals, saving managers from having to visit each site.
Here’s the full story.
Real-time fire reporting and access to time and attendance data was crucial for this refurbishment company. To comply with regulations, managers needed to know which members of their 350 strong workforce were on site instantly.
Ordinarily, this wouldn’t have been much of a challenge for us but some of their 15 sites were 4 storeys below ground, where there was no mobile signal and connectivity was problematic to say the least.
We began by setting up sophisticated hand-scanner terminals at each site to identify employees personally and provide managers with reliable attendance data.
Next, we set up a two-way communication network between the terminals and their head office, allowing each site to be managed remotely. Up-to-the-minute attendance data is now constantly being exchanged between the two points.
To increase efficiency, we then created a brand new feature that automatically uploads employees’ ID details and permission information to the terminals, a huge time saving as managers previously had to visit sites and do this manually.
